Et toi, tu roules?

La je suis calme! Je viens de faire 100km avec mes chérs amis, Kati "la belle brunette" et Didier "Le Piaggio - mobilette"... On a monté la Sainte Baume, un mes montés préféres. Avec eux, c'est toujours chouette, mais CA ROULE aussi!!! Alors, prépare les bidons et c'est parti! Regardez le video en-dessous.

I am very very calm now. I just finished 100km ride with my good friends: Kati "The beautiful" and Didier "The Piaggio - Scooter"... We climbed la Sainte Baume, one of my favorite climbs here. With these guys it's also a lot of fun, but also really hard. So remember to prepare your bottles 'cause it will spin! You can see the video under.

Olo on aika kesy nyt. Palasin juuri kotiin 100km lenkiltä jonka ajoin hyvien ystävieni Katin ja Didierin kanssa. Nousimme Sainte Baumen nousun, joka on yksi suosikeistani. Näiden kavereiden kanssa on parasta ottaa hyvät juomat ja eväät mukaan, sillä pyörä heillä liikkuu. Hauskaa meillä oli, kuten aina. Videosta voitte aistia tunnelmia.

New Season

Virtual Hi! It's been already two weeks since I sensed the fall breeze... I was about to take my bike out with me as this cool breeze passed me by. Even though here in Provence the days are still very sunny and warm, it is a fact: Fall is here!

Last Friday I also got heavy rain on another bike ride. I was out on my lunch brake, which is 2 hours thanks to this southern "siesta", and pam! Cats and dogs came down running. Fall is here.

Soon we are also allowed to go to the forests mountain biking. Mountain biking and hiking in the forests is forbidden because of those forest fires "incendies". You can go mountain biking only really early in the mornings and only certain days when there is not too much wind "mistral".

We have been doing some other sports as well. Jussi has had few "easy days" and once we went canoeing and other day we were playing beach volley. Fun, but made us a bit sore!

Let me introduce you, talented football player from Provence! She already had a contract ready to go to Team Olympic Marseille, but she decided to leave it and have the good family life instead, which means running in the mountains and swimming in canals....

Voici le joueuse de foot avec beaucoup de talent de Provence! Elle a déjà failli avoir le contrat chez l'OM mais elle av préférée la belle vie de la famille: courir dans les montagnes et nager dans les canales plus chouette que le foot!

Esittelen teille lahjakkaan futarin Provencesta! Hänellä olisi ollut soppari Marseillen tiimiin jo valmiina, mutta hän päätti valita rennon elämän perheen vahtina, joka sisältää vuorilla juoksua ja kanaalissa uintia..

I wasn't able to stay on my sofa this morning as I followed women's race! I am really happy for Emma Johansson for her silver medal. Did I tell you something about her in my last post?? :-) Race looked hard in the rain, but she managed everything great. Nicole Cooke's sprint was powerful but Emma was close...

Here we have a result of good attitude and hard work! GRATTIS EMMA!

Also congrats for Christel and Maryline for the 13th and 14th places!

Olympics

Ohhh, I am getting excited... few days to go and then the big race. I am lucky to have a day off on Monday, so I am able to watch Christel and Maryline race. I am also very interested to see how Emma Johansson, my neighbour from Sweden with fast legs, will do. They are all in great shape. It's really exciting!
It's such a pitty that we don't have anybody from the cycling squad from Finland! Even though we have some great cyclists. There is something wrong with the system when a country who has for example, number 1 place from a stage in Paris-Nice, four top ten places from Giro isn't qualified to Olympics!
Well, at least we got few places in World Champs. Until then I will cheer my girls. You go girls!

J'ai hate de voir la grande course de lundi matin. J'ai aussi de la chance d'être en congés lundi, alors je peux suivre la course dans la nuit ( vers 2-3 du matin). Il est interessant à voir les préstations de Christel et Maryline et aussi ma voisine de Suede, Emma Johansson. Elles sont toutes en belle forme! Interessant!!!

Je suis toujours un peu étonnée que nous ne voyons personne aux Jeux de l'équipe cycliste de la Finlande. Même si nous avons les cyclistes de qualité. Il y a un trou dans la système quand le pays qui a par example une numéro 1 place d'étape de Paris-Nice, quatre places dans le dix dans les étapes de Giro, n'a pas droit d'envoyer une cycliste pour les Jeux.
Bon, heureusement on a quelques places pour les Championnats du Monde. Et pour l'instant je vais courager les filles. ALLÈEE!!!

Olen todella innoissani tulevista Olympialaisista. Vielä muutama päivä ja sitten näen Christelin ja Marylinen kisaavan. Odotan mielenkiinnolla myös miten naapuristani Ruotsista tuleva Emma Johansson pärjää, sillä hän on ajanut todella hyvin tämän kauden ja on sekä mäessä että kirissä hyvä ajaja. Kaikki tytöt ovat todella kovassa kunnossa. Tulee mielenkiintoinen kilpailu. Minua on onnistanut ja olen maanantaina vielä vapaalla. Voin siis seurata kisaa livenä!! :-)

Onhan se aika käsittämätöntä miten Suomen pyöräilymaajoukkue ei saanut yhtään paikkaa Olympialaisiin. Järjestelmässä on mielestäni aukkoja kun maa jonka ajajat ovat voittaneet Pariisi-Nizzan etapin, Girossa useita top 10 paikkoja jne jne. ei saa lähettää näitä kuskeja kilpailuun. En tiedä voiko parempia kisanäyttöjä antaa joita Kellu ja Jussi ovat antaneet?? Noh, onhan meillä MM-kilpailuihin ainakin paikat. Siihen asti minä keskityn tyttöjen kisaan. Hanaa tytöt!!!

Garden
