Mont Faron

Käytiin tossa sunnuntaipäivän ratoksi Jusa-pojan kanssa tarkastamassa Tour Mediterranéen perjantain etapin vikat 7km. Hyvinhän se nousi, kuvista voi päätellä onko Monsieur Veikkanen kondiksessa vai eikö?
Valokuvaajakin pysyi hyvin tahdissa. Jamista väännettiin niin että soi ja kameraa samalla tapaa. Keli on hellinyt tässä paluumuuttajaa viikon verran. Kyllä on kelvannut lenkkeillä ja leikkiä ulkona, kun arska porottaa niin että ihan pahaa tekee... Ja ei muuten tee!

On a fait reconnaissance de parcours de fin 7km d'étape de vendredi ce matin. Eh oui, ca monte mon vieux! Mais il n'y pas de souci, il est en forme! Ou qu'est que vous en pensez de ces photos?
Je me suis regalée aussi avec mon vtt. Je pense qu'aprés tout, ce n'est pas mal comme un sport le cyclisme! ;-)
Il fait tellement beau ici en ce moment, c'est trop chouette à jouer dehors.

Adieu

Vaimeni kaiku askelien, nauru iloinen. Tanssilavat menettivät virtuoosin. Kevät antoi odottaa itseään, me jäimme kaipaamaan rakasta kummisetää.

Raimon muistoa kunnioittaen ja syvästi kaivaten.

Chasse de renard rouge

C’est fini la fête! Quel aventure on a vecu encore.... J’attendais noël avec impatience, je faisais les decorations, j’envoyait les dizaines emails à mes proches pour être sure que chacun sait que c’est Noël. (oui, toi Mika aussi! J) On a fété le 24 decembre comme il le faut, avec la famille, tous ensemble. Moi, Jussi, Mika, Jatta, papa, maman, papa de Jussi, maman de Jussi, et le bébé chien: Pyry. Le réveillon à Lahti, le 25-26 à maison de Jussi avec mami et papi. Que du bonheur!

Après noël j'ai travaillé juste pour digerer le cochon et les casseroles costauds. Et hop, le nouveau an! Pendant les jours on a cherche e renard... partout, dans les forets, de lacs glacés, du marché. Et finalement, juste avant abandonner, on l’a trouvé, de’Helsinki. Le capital. Bonne année 2008 à tout le monde!

Hunting the red Fox

Holidays are over! What an adventure we had again... I was impatiently waiting for Christmas... did some decorations, I send quite too many emails to my loved ones just to make sure they were not forgetting that Santa is on his way. Yeah, you Mika also were on my list. J We celebrated Christmas like it should, with the family all together. Me, Jussi, Mika, Jatta, Mummy, Daddy, Jussi’s mom and Jussi’s dad and of course our baby doggy Pyry. All good. After Christmas Eve few days in riihimäki to see Jussi grand-ma and grand-pa. It was wonderful! After holidays I worked just a little bit to digest that pig I ate. And hop, to the New Year. For days we had been looking for the red fox, from everywhere, from the forests, icy lakes, market places. And finally, just before giving up, we found him from Helsinki. The capital city. Happy New Year 2008 to everyone!

Punaisen ketun metsästys

Juhlat on juhlittu! Mikä seikkailu meitä odottikaan jälleen... Odotin innolla joulua... helpottaakseni joulupukin odottelua rakentelin erilaisia koristeita ja lähetin kymmeniä meilejä rakkaille muistuttaakseni joulupukin tulosta. Melkein kaikki meilit taisi kyllä mennä Mikalle, loput Jatalle. J Vihdoin koitti jouluaatto jota juhlimme perhepiirissä. Kaikki kerrankin yhdessä, saman pöydän ääresä. Jussin vanhemmat olivat mukana Vehkiksen joulussa. Miksu ja Jatta olivat ennättäneet saksan laivaan juuri sopivasti ennen jouluaattoa. Joulupäivä ja Tapani meni Riihimäellä mummin ja papan seurassa. Ihanaa! Ja sitten piti taas tehdä hieman töitä, juuri tarpeeksi sulattelemaan kinkkua ja porkkanalaatikkoa. Ja hoplaa, olimme uudessa vuodessa! Olimme etsineet jo päiviä punaista kettua. Joka puolelta olimme katsoneet, metsistä, jäätyneistä järvistä, toreilta ja vihdoin löysimme sen! Helsingistä, no kuinkas muuten! Suomen isosta omenasta. Ihanaa Uutta Vuotta 2008 kaikille!

Joyeux Noël! Merry Christmas! Hyvää Joulua!

On pipolakki ja punatakki nyt juhlakuntoon laitettu ja nenäliinat taitettu, on takataskuun laitettu. On tonttulassa, niin ahkerassa, tää tapa kerran vuodessa. Nyt joulumielen tuodessa, myös juhlamielen tuo. Hyörinä, pyörinä taukoaa, nyt itse joulupukki ratsastaa, katsastaa joukkoaan...

Suomi 90 vuotta / Finlande 90 ans / Finland 90 years

Eläköön itsenäinen Suomi! Eläköön sisukkaat isovanhempamme jotka sisulla voititte maalle itsenäisyyden! Suomi täyttää tänään 90 vuotta, juhlistan juhlaa omalta osaltani kynttilöitä polttaen ja itsenäisyyden juhlaa televisiosta seuraten. Ja illan päätteeksi tietenkin saunaan.

Bravo la Finlande! Bravo à nos grand-parents ceux qui ont fait la bataille pour que nous puissons maintenant être independante et autonome. Aujourd'hui c'est l'anniversaire de Finlande. Je fête ce jour avec joie. Nous allumons les bougies et suivrons la fête de la reception de Madame le Présidente en télé. Et après au sauna, bien sûr!

Hurray Finland! Hurray for our grand-parents who fought us our independance with their courage and strength. Today Finland has the 90th birthday. I celebrate this big day by lighting up the candles and following the President's reception from TV. And to conclude this special evening we go to Sauna, of course!

Ja tämän hiihtokuvan myötä haluan lähettää terkkuja Ranskan perukoille pikku-Mikalle, jota minun on jo kovasti ikävä... enää kaksi viikkoa ja Miksu ja Jatta palaavat kotimaahan!!!

Peace of mind / La tranquilité

I have had the honour to meet quite many top athletes during these years. They all seem to have this "secret-corner" in them, where they manage all the pressure, set-backs and challenges that they have to face in they every-day life. They are humble and determined and that is not something given for granted.

When I am away, what I miss the most from Finland is peace. The freshness of the nature and the quietness. That is from where I get my force. It's true that we have our period of darkness during long fall and winter. But we have also summers full of daylight 24hours per day seven days a week. And you can never have it all, can you?

I took some pics last weekend. Some of them were quite OK, or what do you think? It's about a person who is really worth to be photographed, and who has IT, the secret something, required to achieve great victories... I changed my mind, actually I don't know that many people who really have it. Such a precious thing to find.

J'ai eu l'honneur à connaître pas mal d'athletes d'haute niveau pendant ces années. Il me semble que chacun d'eux a cette petite place interiuere, ce qui donne la force a se battre, même quand c'est difficile, même si ca fait mal. D'être humble et déterminé, ce n'est pas evident.

Quand je suis loin de chez moi, c'est la tranquilité qui me manque. Le fraîcheur de nature et le silence. C'est de la d'oû je puise ma force. Il est vraie que nous avons notre période de noir mais nous avons aussi l'été plein de la lumière 24 heures par jour et 7 jours par semaine. Et on ne peut jamais avoir tout, hein?

J'ai pris quelques photos le weekend dernier. Il y en a quelques uns qui ne sont pas mals, ou qu'est que vous en pensez? Cette personne, je pense que lui, il a vraiment ce quelque chose dans lui. Il l'a, j'en suis sure. Le petit truc pour atteindre les belles victoires... au fait j'ai changé d'avis. Il n'y a pas tellement celles qui l'ont. C'est tellement précieuse.
