It's Finnish and means happy Runeberg's day. We celebrate this day to honour the birthday of this great Finnish poet Johan Ludvig Runeberg. One of his most known writings is the national anthem of Finland, the "Maamme-laulu". We have these special cakes called the Runeberg's cakes and I made those for Jussi, they were yammy! :-) Another reason to be happy today is that I had an appointement with my chirurgien today and the x-rays of my arm were finally OK. He said he was really worried about the healing in September when we last met but now it is recovering as it should. "The year 2007 is going to be a great one", he said to me. The plate will stay for few months still. I was smiling as I left the hospital. I am ready to turn the page!
We are getting ready here to open the pro-racing season as Jussi will be starting tomorrow in GP de la Marseillaise. I will be cheering him on the road, of course!
... est finnois et signifie "Joyeux fête de Runeberg". Nous fétons ce jour pour ce grand poète finlandais, Johan Ludvig Runeberg. Un de ses plus famous poèmes est l'hymne national de la Finlande, le "Maamme-laulu". Nous avons ces gateaux de Runeberg et je les ai préparé pour Jussi. Ils étaient délicieux! :-) Il y a un autre raison pour le sourie aujourd'hui, car j'ai eu un RV avec mon chirurgien aujourd'hui et finalement le radio de mon bras est OK. Il semble avoir bien ossifié, finalement. Le docteur avouait qu'il a fait de soucis pour ca, car après quelques mois il n'y avait pas vraiment d'amélioration. Nous étions contents, et il m'avait dit que: "Ca va être une bonne année 2007!" Je suis d'accord avec lui! J'avais un sourire jusqu'aux oreilles sortant d'hôpital... Je suis prète à tourner le page! Demain il y a le Grand Prix d'ouverture Marseillaise. Je vais suivre mon chèri au bord de la route!
Näin tehdään Runebergin päivää tutuksi! Kokeilin Runebergin torttuja ja niistä tuli oikein makoisia. Tänään on ollut muutakin aihetta hymyyn, sillä minulla oli jälleen kontrolli kirurgini kanssa ja vihdoin röntgenkuvat käsivarresta näyttävät siltä kuin pitää. Lääkäri myönsi olleensa huolissaa kun viimeksi syksyllä tavatessamme ei isoa parannusta ollut tapahtunut. Nyt luutuminen näyttää kuitenkin hyvältä. Tohtori totesi, että: "Vuosi 2007 taitaakin olla oikein hyvä vuosi." Olen hänen kanssaan täysin samaa mieltä!! Hymyilin kävellessäni ulos sairaalasta, nyt voidaan kääntää vihdoin sivua!
Täällä kotona valmistaudutaan aloittamaan kisakausi, Jussi starttaa näet huomenna GP de la Marseillaise kisassa joka ajetaan aivan kotinurkiltamme. Huomenna siis luvassa jännä päivä. Minä menen Jatan ja Miksun kanssa tienvarteen hurraamaan. Jukkakin on ilmeisesti viivalla joten meillä on kaksi suomipoikaa kannustettavana.
